Hey this is Dr. Noel Lloyd for Five Star Management and I want to ask you, what are you excited about in your practice? Now if you still haven’t figured out what you really are excited about it. If it’s not top of mind, then you’re probably not excited.
I want to help you with this because if you’re not excited you’re not going to take action and if you’re not going take action you’re not going change and you’re not going to get the practice success that you want. In this next segment, I’m going to take you through what I know to be the 3 keys to getting and staying excited.
So, I work with Five Star Management clients and I coach a group, inside of Five Star, called Galaxy. Galaxy is a collection of stars, pretty cute right? In that collection of stars we frequently talk about what our philosophy is drawing us toward. A strong chiropractic philosophy will draw us toward helping a lot of people.
Our practice vision. Everybody has a very strong practice vision; we make sure that everyone does. An exciting practice vision and by the way if your practice vision or how you see yourself functioning in your practice is you getting your butt kicked that’s not very exciting. You not being in control of patients or staff or yourself or anything, that’s not very exciting. You need to have a practice vision even if it’s not your current reality that shows you winning so that you can hardly wait to get there.
Let me give you an example. If you knew that you could drive the ball off the tee, 320+ yards, center, straight on the fairway, you could hook it around a dogleg left or right. Would you be excited to play golf? You bet your socks you would. You could hardly wait to get to that tee. If you visualize that golf shot, can you visualize yourself in your practice? The right sounds, the right sights, the right numbers? We need a practice vision that draws us, something that compels us to build on and work on our practice.
And then number three, goals. So chiropractic philosophy, the stronger the better. Vision, the clearer, the more positive the better and goals. Attainable but very, very specific. All goals need to have some type of number in them.
Now those three components will pick a project and if I’ve got a strong philosophy, clear vision, and strong goals what I’ll do is I’ll be excited about my project. When I find somebody who’s not motivated, somebody who’s, “I don’t know Noel. I don’t know what I need to do or want to do.” We go back and we work on philosophy and we work on vision and we work on goals. I’ll be doing that in Seattle this weekend and I’ll be doing that in Chicago in a couple weekends from now for our Foundation of Success seminar.
Now if you’re not excited and you want to get excited, if you want to meet with other chiropractors who are excited. You know we still have some room in those seminars. You might want to come and join us. You might want to bring 2 or 3 of your staff members so that they can get some staff training.
